Villa Greta Garbo

Villa Greta Garbo

Villa Garbo has a long and rich history. It was constructed in the first half of the 20th century.
It was a summer home to Gayelord Houser– a dietician from Hollywood.

Over the years some of the most important names of Hollywood’s Golden Era have visited the villa. One guest however, had her own mini apartment. She was not fond of ‘Star night’- events organized here.
Greta Garbo hardly ever participated. She preferred to stay at her peace, away from everybody.

For almost 30 years (1950-1979) the villa was her secret retreat. When the doctor eventually sold it in the 80’s it was bought by a local prominent family and it’s their family home to this day. However, one part of this villa is accessible to the public.

Huge manicured gardens full of olive trees and exotic plants make a perfect venue for those who want to experience a bit of Old Hollywood glamour. This villa is a perfect solution for small, medium or large parties.
It is situated literally on the beach. On one side we are looking at the Messina strait and on the other one the gorgeous hill of Taormina and it’s stunning bay.

The views are spectacular in the evening as they are in the day, if not more.
